Case Study: HEALTH & SAFETY

Our Chartered safety consultant was engaged by a SME engineering and manufacturing company, who were seeking advice and guidance on their COVID-19 mitigation strategies.

 

Tasked with ensuring that this company continued to produce its bespoke engineering throughout the on-going pandemic, our consultant reviewed the Scottish government legislation and engaged with the  Scottish Government advisory group to determine what was and would be allowed.

A detailed COVID-19 mitigation plan was developed and changes were agreed with the management and workforce. What had been a single site, 2 shift operating model now became a 2 site, 3 shift operating model. This allowed for social distancing within the manufacturing process and allowed for the necessary sanitising procedures to be conducted throughout the production line process.

Our consultant continued to monitor & review all the processes and operating model to ensure that it was a safe place to continue  manufacturing within a COVID compliant environment.

With the implementation and monitoring of this complete safety management system the business continued to thrive throughout the pandemic.
